The Masterminds Release New Single “Standing Our Ground”
Asbury Park, NJ – Asbury Park rock band the Masterminds today released their new single “Standing Our Ground” on all platforms. Inspired by the brave freedom struggle of the Ukrainian people, the defiant “Standing Our Ground” is a rallying cry for people everywhere who refuse to be bullied or intimidated by their tormentors. The song follows the release of the Masterminds’ singles “Chapter Two” in March and “Little Bird” in December 2022. “Standing Our Ground” continues the band’s quest to uplift and inspire listeners via the power their music.
With echoes of the driving guitars of the Sex Pistols and the Clash, “Standing Our Ground” evokes the angry and defiant attitude of those punk rock pioneers.
Masterminds’ songs such as “Flashback” and “Boomerang” received extensive terrestrial and satellite (Sirius XM’s “Rodney Bingenheimer Show”) radio airplay in the U.S., as did “Little Bird.”
With features on Radiocastor, Indie is Not a Genre, Surviving the Golden Age, and the Keep Walking Blog, among many others, The Masterminds have created a buzz in the musical blogosphere both in the U.S. and around the world.
“Standing Our Ground” was composed by Masterminds singer/guitarist Tim English. The album was recorded at Lakehouse Studios in Asbury Park and produced by Nick Semanchik and Rob Tanico.
