NOVALIMA ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM AND INTERNATIONAL TOUR
The pioneering Afro-Peruvian sound system NOVALIMA celebrates their 20th anniversary with La Danza, a new release on San Francisco’s Six Degrees Records, and an international tour launching in March.
In 2023, The Latin Grammy nominees and worldwide ambassadors of the new afro-peruvian sound, celebrate their twentieth anniversary with the release of a new album and an Anniversary Tour that will take them to North America, Latam & Europe.
NEW ALBUM
Aer the release of Chʼusay in 2018 followed by a number of remixes during 2019, Novalima is back in the studio experimenting with new sounds from Peru and the world. This time around, the influences come not only from their African heritage but also from the diverse African diaspora aroundtheworld. This diversity has exploded in recen tyears birthing new urban languages. On this new album to be released in May 2023, Novalima goes one step further by exploring the new generation of artists around the world who reinterpret their African heritage.
ANNIVERSARY TOUR
For the 20th Anniversary Tour, Novalima has prepared a highly energetic live show that takes the audience on a journey thru all albums from Afro to Ch,usay. The tunes have been rearranged from the original studio versions, capturing the audienceʼs attention from beginning to end. The gradual increase in intensity acts like a wave, liing up the crowd on a hypnotic journey thru time and history, resulting in a crescendo of non-stop dancing.
