“New Born” by Norrac is a new album being released by MEGAWAVE on February 21, 2023. Recorded in France and Jamaica, this is a compelling roots and reggae dub album from producer and multi-instrumentalist Carron 'Norrac' McGibbon, who produced, composed and arranged all of the tracks. Recorded and mixed at Studio Norrac, Auxerre (France), Studio Devidal, Bourgoin Jallieu (France), Mixing Lab Studio (Jamaica), and Tuff Gong Studio (Jamaica). Mastered by John Palmer at Andro-Media (USA), it is being serviced to radio by Distiller Promo.
Several songs feature collaborations with Inity, Smallion, and Nixson Dorce.
After completing Alpha Boys School in Kingston Jamaica and creating his first group at age 16, Carron went on to work with Sir Coxson Dodd at Studio One. He later toured throughout Europe with Ska group Jamaica All Stars, before forming Unit 3, recording at Tuff Gong Studios, and producing his first album “In The Fields” in 2013. After a hiatus, he joined new collaborators and as Norrac produced “The Return” in 2019.
McGibbon has played for many Reggae greats, including Bunny Wailer, Toots Hibbert, Jeffrey Osborne, Burning Spear, and the Marley Family. He has studied British law and holds a B.Sc. degree in Language, Letter, Regional and Foreign Civilizations (LLCER) from the University of Orléans, France, where he currently resides.
